I. Introduction to the discipline
This discipline of ship and Ocean Engineering is a professional field that provides various types of equipment for water transportation, ocean resources development and Navy forces, and carries out ocean engineering design and construction, which is of great significance to the development of national economy and modernization of national defense construction.
This discipline has a teaching and research team with reasonable structure, unity and cooperation, high academic level and rich practical experience. Teachers in this field take the initiative to carry out "production-study-research" cooperation with enterprises. They are a team of teachers who understand social needs, have solid theoretical knowledge, rich teaching experience, and strong practical ability. After years of development, the discipline has formed three relatively stable research directions: advanced ship manufacturing technology, ship and ocean structure hydrodynamics,and ship and ocean structure design.
This field relies on a number of research platforms and industry university research platforms in the field of ship and ocean engineering,such as the advanced ship manufacturing centers, ship structure laboratories, ship propulsion system laboratories, ship hydrodynamics laboratories, and advanced ship design and manufacturing laboratories that are jointly built by the central and local governments. The construction and operation of these platforms provide a strong guarantee for the joint training of master students in this field.
II. Training objectives
This field mainly cultivates the builders and successors of the socialist cause with Chinese characteristics that have a comprehensive development of morality, intelligence, physical education, art and labor. Comprehensively grasp the solid basic theory and broad professional knowledge in this field, master the advanced methods and means of solving engineering and management problems at home and abroad, understand the domestic and overseas research developments in related fields, able to read foreign materials in this field skillfully, have good writing ability and other practical application abilities.
2. Have the basic abilities to independently analyze and solve complex problems in the field of ship and ocean engineering, and have strong skills for expression, interpersonal communication teamwork,international vision and cross-cultural communications.
3.After graduation, the master students in this field can be engaged in the design and manufacturing of ships and marine structures at home and abroad,in the development of new ship types, and in the research of shipbuilding technology, etc.
